Wine description
Colour: Straw yellow.
Bouquet: Intense pome fruit aroms.
Taste: On the palate, this Veltliner shows full body and depth with ripe pome fruit aromas. The animating minerality, due to the high ripeness of the grapes, underlines the enormous potential of the wine. Elegant juiciness with fine mineral notes in the finish.
Food recommendation: Goes perfectly with strong, spicy dishes.
Origin
Mailberg / Weinviertel
The market town of Mailberg nestles into a natural basin in a picturesque setting surrounded by mountains. The majority of the slopes surrounding Mailberg are planted with vineyards. The Mailberg soils are calcareous and covered with loamy sands and loess.
Approximately 1,800 hours of sun per year and average annual precipitation levels of 450 mm offer ideal conditions for wine-growing. The fresh continental climate in the northerly Weinviertel and the wind-protected position of the vineyards in the small valley bestow the wine with a highly individual character, one to which it owed its fame even hundreds of years ago.
